Role Description
We’re seeking remarkably talented individuals who will be able to credibly advise some of Uganda’s brightest entrepreneurs and influence the growth of an organisation with the potential to scale internationally.
United Social Ventures (UK Charity No. 1158935; UG NGO No. 4936) empowers young Ugandans to start effective and sustainable social start-ups. Through a combination of workshops and advisory services, we provide a framework for young people to design start-ups that are more impactful, financially sustainable, and scalable.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team and work directly with exciting, young entrepreneurs to help stimulate their growth. Most time will be spent providing advisory services to social ventures using USV’s unique framework of tools, and a second large part of the job will be co-facilitating workshops and webinars to larger groups of start-ups.
Ideal candidates will be dedicated to the vision of United Social Ventures and capable of the empathetic, intelligent, and communicative manner required to engage with entrepreneurs of different ages and levels of development. They will be energetic, adaptable, proactive, and hardworking. Previous experience in youth entrepreneurship support programs is highly desirable.
Key Details
Contract: 40 hours per week for 12 months. Extended based upon performance and funding.
Other Benefits: 21 days annual leave and health insurance

- Managing relationships with entrepreneurs
- Holding coaching sessions to support the good progress of ventures in assigned portfolio.
- Using the USV database to promptly report back on venture progress.
- Facilitate workshops with USV’s curriculum, including:
- Preparation (Slides, talking points, tools, etc)
- Delivery (physical or webinars)
- Review – to improve sessions and tools further.
- Represent USV to ventures and partners.
- Source and make suggestions for projects

- Professionalism: Quickly respond to requests from Clients/ partners and treat them with respect, honesty and professionalism.
- Confidentiality: Maintain highest level of confidentiality with regard to company information, clients & colleagues.
- Time: Use time and resources productively for the benefit of the company.
- Computer Literate: Make use of systems (CRM, ClickUp, Reporting tools, …) and processes to enhance productivity and ability to learn new technology quickly.
- Communications: An effective, professional communicator, both written and verbally and to large groups of people.
- Bachelor’s degree
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in managing a start-up and/or working in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Familiarity with the social entrepreneurship space in Uganda
- Background in Human Centered Design and/or Lean Start-up and/or Systems Thinking
- Experience in conducting trainings
